Basic GPS tracking tells you where a vehicle is. Telematics combines location with data from the vehicle and its use — speed, harsh braking and acceleration, cornering, idling, distance, timing and driver behaviour — so you can understand how vehicles are actually being driven. Used well, that data supports work-related driving risk management, coaching, maintenance and incident investigation. Used poorly, it is just dots on a map that no one acts on.
Do you install the telematics system or just advise on it?
