Certification is the gateway. Getting it wrong is expensive.
A certification or approval mark is often the difference between being specified and being ruled out. Without the right listing, your product can be locked out of tenders, projects and entire markets — no matter how good it is.
Getting there the hard way — guessing the scheme, retesting, reworking documentation — burns time and money. Robust HSEQ de-risks and speeds up the path: we help you choose the right scheme first time, build the evidence once, and keep your certification current so market access stays open.
We help when…
- A client, tender or specification demands a certified product
- You are unsure which scheme or mark you actually need
- You want to enter export or international markets
- You need a Factory Production Control system in place
- Your certification is due for surveillance or renewal
Certification Schemes We Help You Navigate
Australian and international schemes each have their own standards, evidence and assessment. We help you understand which apply and how to meet them.
Australian Standards
Certification and conformance to Australian Standards (AS) and joint AS/NZS standards — the baseline for supplying into many Australian markets and tenders.
Underwriters Laboratories
US and North American product safety certification. A widely recognised mark for products entering North American markets and supply chains.
BRE Global
Built-environment product certification through BRE Global, a certification body covering fire, security and construction product testing and certification.
LPCB “Red Book”
Loss Prevention Certification Board approval — LPCB-listed “Red Book” products for fire and security, respected across specification and insurance.
China Compulsory Certification
The CCC mark for fire-related products (CCCF) entering the Chinese market — a mandatory scheme with its own testing and factory requirements.
RCM Compliance Mark
The Australian electromagnetic compliance mark — formerly C-Tick, now the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) administered under the ACMA regime.
Other Schemes & Marks
From CE marking to other national and industry marks — we help you identify the right scheme for your product and target market and map the requirements.
How We Get You Certified And Keep You There
We are consultants, not a certification body — we do the groundwork that gets your product through assessment and keeps it compliant afterwards.
Scheme Gap Analysis & Pathway Mapping
We identify the right scheme and standard for your product and market, then map exactly what it takes to get certified.
Technical File & Documentation
We build the technical file, specifications and evidence pack each scheme requires, structured to make assessment straightforward.
Factory Production Control
We establish the FPC system that proves consistent conformity — often built on an ISO 9001 quality management foundation.
Test Coordination
We coordinate testing with accredited laboratories, so the right tests are run to the right standard the first time.
Audit & Assessment Support
We prepare you for factory audits and assessments and stand alongside your team through the certification process.
Surveillance & Maintenance
We help you maintain certification through ongoing surveillance, so your listing and market access stay current.
A strong system underneath
- FPC often built on ISO 9001 quality management
- Documented process control and traceability
- Inspection, testing and corrective action
- Evidence that stands up to factory audits
- One system that supports every scheme you hold
Certification Sits On Your Management System
Product certification and your management systems are two sides of the same coin. Factory Production Control — the backbone of most product schemes — is frequently built on the disciplines of an ISO 9001 quality management system.
If your quality system is solid, certification is far quicker to reach and far easier to keep. If it is not, we build it. Explore our HSEQ management systems service to see how the two connect.
Our Product Certification Process
A clear, staged path from choosing the right scheme to holding — and keeping — your certification.
Scope & Select Scheme
We confirm your target markets and select the right scheme, standard and mark for your product.
Prepare Evidence & FPC
We build the technical file and establish the Factory Production Control that proves conformity.
Test & Assess
We coordinate testing with accredited labs and prepare you for factory audit and assessment.
Certify & Maintain
We support you through certification and keep it current through ongoing surveillance.
Product Certification FAQs
What does product certification involve?
Product certification is the process of proving a product conforms to a defined standard or scheme so it can be marked, listed and sold into a market. It typically involves selecting the right scheme, preparing a technical file, establishing Factory Production Control, coordinating testing with accredited laboratories and passing assessment before certification is granted and then maintained through ongoing surveillance.
Are you a certification body?
No. Robust HSEQ is a consultancy. We are not an accredited certification body or a testing laboratory and we do not issue certificates. We help manufacturers achieve and maintain product certification by mapping the pathway, preparing evidence and Factory Production Control, coordinating testing with accredited labs and supporting you through assessment and surveillance.
What is Factory Production Control?
Factory Production Control, or FPC, is the documented system a manufacturer uses to ensure products consistently meet the certified specification. It covers process control, inspection, testing, traceability and corrective action, and is often built on an ISO 9001 quality management system. A working FPC is central to gaining and keeping product certification.
Can you help us enter international markets?
Yes. We help manufacturers navigate international schemes and marks such as UL for North America, CCCF for fire products entering China, and LPCB and BRE certification for the built environment, coordinating the evidence, testing and documentation each scheme requires.
How long does certification take?
It depends on the scheme, the product and how much evidence and Factory Production Control you already have in place. Testing lead times, technical file readiness and audit scheduling all affect the timeline. We scope this up front so you have a realistic pathway rather than a surprise, and we work to remove avoidable delays.
